System Management

X Watch is a software feature which is held within the excavator cab, on a digital display.  The software has automated systems for height control, slew control, rated capacity indicator, dig depth and telematics.  Added to this is a creep control which will slow the machine down to a creep speed, should an obstruction be detected.

The X Watch protects workers from overhead danger by defining a pre-set limit of the machines boom height, preventing movement of the boom beyond the pre-set limit. 

Part of the safety features is to control the slew of an excavator. Both the angle and the lateral slew limits can be set preventing machine damage when operating in confined spaces.  These limits will be set by the machine operator and when the limits are reached, the machine hydraulic stop operation will begin. Additionally, safe weight limits will ensure the excavator is working at capacity whilst in safe working load. An audible alarm will warn the operator of any safety boundaries being met.

As well as height limiters there is also depth limits which can be set for the operator, this eliminates the need for an additional employee to carry out external checking for pipes or cables.

REVERSE AND PROXIMITY CAMERAS FITTED

Excavators are powerful equipment, often used on construction projects and can be one of the most dangerous machines in the construction workplace. Understanding the blind zones of the Excavator can help you prevent collisions and save lives. The largest blind spots are usually located on the front and rear of the Excavator.
